Read MoreI think we can all agree that this past week has been one of the craziest EVER! We are all navigating the unique challenges that have come up from the Coronavirus and, on top of that, Smoot, the kids and I just moved into a new house! That’s right, this past weekend, just as the spring antique show was cancelled, we were moving 20 years of stuff along with two businesses that we run in a home office, into a new house. It has definitely been overwhelming, but I’m choosing to focus on bringing balance into my life and my family’s life in the midst of all this chaos.

Read MoreThe Eisley Cottage is one of the two Cozy Cottages we added to our property about a year ago. This cottage is named after our sweet and youngest daughter, Eisley. Our kids have been a part of this journey since the beginning, so we wanted to create spaces that reflected who they are. Not to mention, they love getting to stay in their very own space when we take a weekend trip to Round Top.

Co-hosted by Camila Alves McConaughey of Women of Today, the spring 2019 BBSM Workshop had a special focus on social media marketing and content creation. In addition to panel discussions, Q&A time, and the opportunity to network with one another the panelists, workshop participants were treated to a beverage and appetizer demo--complete with a break to taste all the goodies!--and got to take advantage of the spectacularly styled space to get started on their own content creation.

Pure white has no hue and reflects all visible wavelengths of light, so white paint will be very “reactive” to its environment. Read MoreWith Mental Health Awareness Month coming to a close, Smoot and I want to share a little more about our personal experiences with this important issue. I’ll preface that we were inspired to share our stories from the brave work of Val Van Galder, one of Smoot’s longtime friends from Los Angeles. Val’s passion project, Depressed Cake Shop, aims to raise awareness about mental health by partnering with local bakeries to create “depression-themed” treats—cookies and cupcakes with greyscale frosting. The goodies are meant to start conversations, promote awareness about self-care and mental-health resources, and raise funds for local mental health organizations like the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
