Shop Where You Sleep: A New Experience from the VRT
How new partnerships brought a long-awaiting initiative to life.
First there was a new goal. Then, a new bowl. And then, a new lens.
Let me explain.
Sometimes, things just come together. There is rarely a guest at The Vintage Round Top properties that doesn’t reach out to us to ask, “Where did you find that ?” Fill in the blank. It could be our modern vintage coffee table, a decorative touch on the wall, even the cozy bedsheets. After nearly 10 years of hosting guests, we are continually flattered by how the surroundings speak to someone. And we have definitely learned that people want to SHOP WHERE THEY SLEEP!
The goal came first: create an experience that fosters the growth of artisans and makers featured within our properties. Make it easy for our guests to shop and get the look they love with the products they got to “test out” during their stay. Shop Where You Sleep, a new curated experience was born.
Next, came the bowl. As Style Union Home shares, “Not just any bowl. A beautiful bowl.” Truthfully, it’s even better than that – it’s such a cool story. Style Union Home is a ceramics line from entrepreneur Kym Gold, co-founder of True Religion jeans. (Let’s pause and give Kym a little moment of appreciation for helping us all look more fit in our jeans!). Kym’s goal was simple but thoughtful: reflect fashion and style in the ceramics that people enjoy in their homes. Basically, next level ceramics! It’s easy to just buy a white bowl that works. But when you’re breaking bread, why not make it conversation worthy? Take the extra step. Style Union Home offers tableware and accessories made by master ceramicists, made in the U.S.A. (specifically, Los Angeles), that sets a space apart.

And if you’ve seen our style – our collections and antiques – or stayed in our space, you know we are all about the details, touches, and special finds that set a space apart.
So, when we heard from Style Union Home about a possible collaboration, we jumped at the opportunity. We just needed to figure out how.
Enter the new lens. California-based, mother and daughter photography team (LOVE IT!) Shauna and Natasha Holland of Public 311 Design were making their inaugural trip to Round Top and were interested in shooting our spaces. After reviewing their amazing style and getting to know their beyond precious personalities, we asked this dynamic duo to shoot our next Collections - Collections 02 along with our spaces.
We’ve been working hard to put together Collections 02 and will be launching it on our web shop Thursday June 10, 2021. Mark your calendars!!!

To sum all of this up - what I love most about this collaboration is getting to work with these bad ass girl bosses that are producing such beautiful work and creativity on their own terms.
