My bedtime routine is simple with special attention to the details. To ensure I get a restful night's sleep, I do a few things every night that have me waking up each morning feeling relaxed and rested.
I start by making Smoot and I a cup of tea. Our favorite is Nighty Night tea from Traditional Medicinals. With my cup in hand, I like to soak in a warm bath with RVT Lavender soap while a RVT Lavender candle is lit and perfuming the room. The scent is so relaxing and really quiets my mind after a long day.
Next, I remove my makeup and moisturize with with Aveda All Sensitive Cleanser and Moisturizer.
Texas summers can be brutal so I turn the AC to 71 and the overhead fan on to keep cool throughout the night. White noise on our iPhone has become a must for us. It drowns out any outside noises or the room being "too quiet". Because it can get so hot, we change our sheets and comforter to a lightweight cotton for the season, like Parachute's set in white.
With all the technology now, you never know what could start blinking or flashing during the night. To avoid any unwanted interruptions, I use a velvet eye pillow with a chia seeds insert.
The routine is fairly simple but is just enough for me to feel pampered and ready for a good night's sleep.
