HOLIDAY HOME TOUR - MODERN VINTAGE DECOR - PART I
Paige Hull
We were honored to be on the Round Top Historical Society Home Tour this past weekend. The weather was gorgeous and the mood was light! We asked Lark Boutique to collaborate with us on our holiday decor. Their shop and art are so inspiring! We had a blast working with Barbara, one of the owners, and loved the pieces she brought to incorporate with ours.
Most of the elements we used came from nature. We made the pine cone garland with twine and strung it organically. The saddlebags on either side of the fireplace are from Lark (I drool over them every time I walk in their store). A single amaryllis sits in a clear vase accompanied with a few pine branches.
This beauty is hand carved out of bronze by Russell, the other owner of Lark. He adds a stone patina to complete this amazing work of art. It sat perfectly perched on the corner of the mantel as if it were made just for that spot.
We stayed true to our Modern Vintage style by using white, clear, and vintage wood serving pieces and adding color through natural elements like pine branches, holly berries, and pine cones. It's a clean, classic, modern look that doesn't break the bank.
Our good friend Melissa from The Bake Shoppe and Cafe made a delicious assortment of cookies that were all gobbled up by the end of the day. Do yourself a favor and check out her cafe in Cypress, Texas and her famous Ding Dongs offered at Royers Pie Haven located in Round Top (Henkel Square).
It was a true pleasure to welcome so many wonderful people into our home. We enjoyed visiting with old and new friends alike. If you didn't get a chance to come this year, mark your calendars for next. Holiday festivities including the Christmas Parade and Home Tour are always the first weekend in December.
