CONDÉ NAST TRAVELER FEATURE: 3 BEST DAY TRIPS FROM AUSTIN

Paige Hull

The Vintage Round Top on Condé Nast Traveler

With summer quickly approaching and the kids’ school year winding down, my mind wanders to thoughts of family time and road trips. As new-ish Austin residents, we are so appreciative of the short drives to so many wonderful places nearby. Being able to hop in the car on a Saturday afternoon and end up in the Texas wine country or on a back road enjoying the scenery is one of my favorite parts about living here.

If you aren’t sure what kind of magic awaits you in this great state, Conde Nast Traveler put together a great piece on the 3 Best Day Trips from Austin. Our beloved Round Top made the list, and we are thrilled to have The Vintage Round Top featured alongside our friends The Garden Co. Marketplace and Café, Royers Pie Haven, Prost on Block 29, Rancho Pillow, Lark, Townsend Provisions, and Bad Hombres

Road tripping took on a new meaning for us over six years ago when we decided to take the scenic way home on Highway 237 (instead of Highway 290 that we normally took) when visiting Smoot's mom. For fun (and to live with intention), we stopped to check out a house for sale. We had no intention of buying that house, only to get the "mojo" going for a few years down the road when we thought we'd be ready for a second home. Little did we know, that would be the beginning of this amazing journey we've been on and have never looked back.

So, I encourage you to take a drive this summer — somewhere, anywhere. You never know where it might lead!
