Brass is back...but in a much better way! I didn't care for it the first time around. However, with all of the options available today, we cannot wait to add it to the new cottage we're building on The Vintage Round Top property! It blends perfectly with our Modern Vintage Style.
We've included a sneak peak of a few of the pieces we'll be using.
The sink and shower faucets were purchased at Galveston Historical Foundation's Architectural Salvage Warehouse and came from a home on the island. The warehouse is located on Broadway, not too far from The Strand. It's totally worth the trip if you are looking for old windows, doors, hardware, etc. Be sure to check their schedule and call ahead as I remember they were not open all of the time.
The two nautical sconces were found at a Paris flea market during our buying trip last summer. Marché aux puces - Porte de Vanves is one of the largest markets in Paris and fairly expensive. But, we were lucky to nab these little gems for a good price. Be warned - when you buy lighting in Europe, you will have to pay an electrician to rewire it for American use. We knew we wanted to add pieces from our travels in the new cottage, so decided to go for it even with the additional cost or rewiring.
We had the pleasure of showing Holly Mathis and Becki Griffin our new space and design details a month or so ago. Holly shared our guest bathroom vignette on her Instagram feed and the faucet was a big hit. We were excited everyone loved it as much as we did!
We anticipate the new space will be ready mid September, and look forward to sharing it with all of you!
