As we enter 2017, we can't help but reflect on the previous year and how our mantra of living with intention has helped us accomplish our goals. To us, living with intention means identifying our hopes and dreams, determining our goals, and actually going after them.
We started living with intention over 5 years ago after a casual conversation with Bud Royer on the porch of his infamous Royers Cafe. His sly remark got us thinking we needed to define our goals and live each day working towards them instead of just dreaming about them. This change in our mindset wasn't immediate, but it was a process of figuring out what we wanted and finding a way to make it happen.
We longed to have property in Round Top, but could not afford a second home at that time. We decided to stop and visit an open house while driving through the town on our way home after a trip to New Braunfels. Our intention of stopping was merely to get the "mojo going" for a few years down the road for when we would be able to afford it. Little did we know, the realtor would change our lives forever by introducing the town's need for lodging and how vacation homes worked. He told us about how the town was growing and that we could afford a house in Round Top, as long as we shared it with others.
Since then, we've tried to live with intention everyday in everything we do. These photos were taken over a year ago during a photo shoot for Where Women Create Business. This was when Smoot and I first started planning for the new Boho cottage we're adding to the property. Back then it was just a garage and a dream, and now it's nearly completed.
The new Boho cottage is truly a manifestation of this guiding life phrase that we follow. We created the space to grow our business on a larger scale and to also be able to share it with others. Our dream is for it to be a place for celebration, new beginnings, and inspiration for others to go after their own aspirations.
Living with intention along with hard work has truly gotten us to where we are today. I encourage you to think about how you can make your dream a reality and then do something about it today!
